Disha Gupta

Disha is passionate about leveraging technology to facilitate societal impact. In particular, she aims to harness artificial intelligence to improve women's health and work towards health equity. She is a 2024 Rise Global Fellow, a distinction awarded to 0.1% of applicants through the Schmidt Foundation and the Rhodes Trust.

 

She started her journey in technology by creating an intuitive tool to determine eligibility for breast cancer screening for genetic mutations. Recently, she developed CancerDetect, an iOS app that uses advanced generative AI technology to detect breast cancer at early stages while reducing mortality and the cost of care. These tools have helped over 400,000 women on their breast cancer journey.

 

Disha is co-founder of the Stem4All Silicon Valley Branch of StemE, where she partners with local middle schools and leads over 100 volunteers in bridging the STEM education gap.‍

 

Disha is the A&E/Lifestyle editor for Harker Aquila, where she is responsible for supervising the section for their online site and newspaper and mentoring staff members.‍
